Come join a fun program, for people high school age and up, where you can build friendships and participate in a wide range of activities that meet your strengths.
East Central’s DDA Recreation Program provides a safe and caring environment for the participants with qualified, involved, and dedicated staff- they will feel like part of the family! We also provide breakfast, lunch, and a snack throughout the day, paying special attention to diet restrictions.
We provide a wide variety of activities ranging from a community garden, outdoor activities, arts & crafts, 3 flat screen TVs for Wii Sports and movies, a computer lab, a full functioning gym with tennis, basketball, Zumba, & Sit N Be Fit, a music room, as well as daily field trips.
The program coordinates with the Community Access Participants to go to places that have an educational and fun component built into it. Some examples include Riverfront Park, Manito Park, Ben Burr Trail, our community garden, and out to the river to feed the ducks. Most recently the program went on a trip to Silverwood. There are plans to take a trip to Mt. Spokane and Coeur d’Alene in the near future. The staff believes that building relationships with others in the community is very important for the growth and development of our participants.
